What is more important?
I believe skills can be vital in any role you play and it is important to keep gathering skills as you get older and not rely on natural talent. But if it is a question of what is more important, it would be experience all the way.
Experience can help you make your skills more efficient. In the NFL I don’t think Tom Brady is the most skillful player. He has gotten better with age and I don’t think it is because he is acquired much more skill, it is because of his experience. In some games, he knows what the defense is going to do ahead of time and because he has been in so many different situations he can reason what would be the best action to take. Then he can let his skill take over.
On the other hand, some very good quarterbacks may not have lasted in the league because they may not have had the chance to gain experience and chose an action that got them injured.
